This Privacy Policy explains how WaterMe processes data when you use the mobile application and related backend services.

1. Data We Process

• Plant and reminder data you enter in the app, such as plant names, watering schedules, and reminder settings.
• Plant photos you choose to analyze for plant identification or growth comparison.
• Device-level permissions required for core features, including camera and notifications.
• Advertising-related data processed by AppLovin MAX and its monetization partners, such as identifiers and ad interaction signals, according to AppLovin policies.

2. How We Use Data

• To save your plants, schedules, and app settings.
• To send reminder notifications you enable.
• To provide plant identification and growth comparison through our proxy backend and PlantNet API.
• To display in-app ads via AppLovin MAX.

3. Local Storage

Plant records, reminder settings, and related app data are stored locally on your device using app storage mechanisms.

4. Photo Processing and Third Parties

If you use identification or growth comparison features, selected photos are uploaded to our backend endpoint and forwarded to third-party services, such as PlantNet, to return analysis results.

We do not intend to permanently store uploaded images in the proxy service. Operational logs may temporarily contain technical error details.

5. Ads

WaterMe uses AppLovin MAX. AppLovin may process data under its own Privacy Policy and applicable terms: https://legal.applovin.com/privacy/

6. Permissions

• Camera: used only when you choose to take or select photos.
• Notifications: used only for plant reminder alerts.

7. Data Retention

Local app data remains on your device until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app. Remote request data is processed for service operation and troubleshooting.

8. Children

WaterMe is not intentionally directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal data, please contact us.
